Websites crafted in Warwickshire

Case Study

Chalfin Boxer Shorts

Chalfin are a Leamington Spa based company manufacturing and selling British made Boxer Shorts.

A slow website

Their old website was built on WordPress with Woo-commerce, and whilst it wasn't too bad visually, there were some serious gremlins under the bonnet resulting in a very slow customer experience.

The vanishing web designer

Worst still, was that their old web designer had stopped taking calls/emails. Both the Chalfin website and associated email service needed attention. - Chalfin were in a pickle.

Rip it up and start again

We agreed the best course of action was start over. WordPress websites are notoriously slow, and this was something Chalfin were particularly worried about.

Which eCommerce platform?

  • Chalfin staff were keen to have a website that was easy for them to maintain, reducing their reliance of a web designer.
  • They also wanted their clients to be able to personalise their products with an embroidered monogram.

  • I identified that Shopify would be the best option for Chalfin. Whilst the website would be restricted to a template design, it would come with a easy-to-use Admin Dashboard.
  • Plus there was a fantastic personalisation plugin to help up-sell their products with the monogram.

New Shopify website

A new eCommerce website was built using Shopify. Once complete, it seamlessly replaced the old WordPress site, ensuring no downtime during change-over.

Improved messaging

The website messages were improved to better resonate with their target customer. More emphasis was also made of the products USP too.

Rebuilt email accounts

The old troublesome email accounts had a mind of there own with missing mail and very late delivery. I completely rebuilt all their accounts on Microsoft Office 365, and migrated all their old mail, resulting in an invisible change-over.

What Chalfin said...

"Graham was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I was in desperate need for someone to sort my website out for my online business as it was slow and didn’t flow properly. Nothing was a problem and I am so pleased with the end product. Thank you very much for all your hard work, I really appreciate it".
